Polda Metro Jaya distributes 3,000 harvested eggs to SPPG in Bekasi
Jakarta - Polda Metro Jaya distributes 3,000 eggs harvested from a chicken farm in Tambak Kampung Bagedor, Muara Gembong, Bekasi Regency, West Java, to the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).
Kombes Pol. Ardanto Nugroho, Senior Police Auditor of Polda Metro Jaya, said the harvest activity is part of the police’s commitment to support the national food security programme.
“This egg harvest is part of our effort to support the availability of nutritious food, especially protein sources for the community,” Ardanto stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Ardanto explained that the 3,000 eggs were produced by the local chicken farm over four days. All the harvest was immediately distributed to two SPPG units under the jurisdiction of Bekasi Metro Police Resort, namely SPPG Cibatu and SPPG Jaya Mukti.
“The harvest is directly distributed to SPPG to ensure nutritious food needs are met and the benefits reach the intended recipients,” he said.
The chicken farm in Muara Gembong covers approximately 1,000 square metres and currently houses around 1,000 laying hens with an 80% daily productivity rate.
In addition to chicken farming, the integrated food zone in Muara Gembong also optimises a 49-hectare fish pond for aquaculture of species such as tilapia, milkfish, and tiger prawns. There is also a goat farm currently caring for 50 goats.
Ardanto hopes the integrated food management concept will continue consistently to maintain a stable supply of healthy and nutritious food for the community.
“Through integrated management, we aim to ensure a continuous supply of healthy and nutritious food raw materials,” he said.
