Polda Metro Jaya Distributes 250 Food Packages to Online Motorcycle Taxi Drivers to Strengthen Ties

The Metro Jaya Regional Police distributed 250 basic food packages to online motorcycle taxi drivers through its ‘Jumat Peduli’ social programme in front of the Polda Metro Jaya Promoter Building, Jakarta, on Friday, to strengthen ties while maintaining public security and order. Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the activity, which began at 1 p.m. local time, was a form of police concern for the online transport driver community, which is considered to play an important role in the mobility of capital city residents. ‘Through Jumat Peduli, we want to continue building closeness with the community, including our fellow online motorcycle taxi drivers who are active on the roads every day and support residents’ mobility,’ Budi said in Jakarta on Friday. He mentioned that the direct distribution of food packages was carried out as a gesture of attention and moral support for workers in the online transport sector. According to Budi, online motorcycle taxi drivers are strategic community partners who can actively contribute to maintaining a conducive environment. He expressed hope that the social activity would continue to strengthen the partnership between the National Police and the community in maintaining regional order. ‘We hope this activity brings benefits and further strengthens the relationship between the National Police and the community.
