He confirmed that his staff moved quickly to request that Botok’s account be reopened.

“In this matter, Polda Metro Jaya understands that this issue has become a public concern. Therefore, every step is carried out with caution, objectivity, and professionalism while adhering to the presumption of innocence,” said Commissioner General Asep during a press conference at the House of Representatives (DPR), Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (26/8/2026).

Asep stressed that his institution appreciates all input regarding the suspension of Botok’s account. He described it as part of maintaining public trust.

“We appreciate every input and oversight from the leadership and members of Commission III as an important part of maintaining professionalism, legal certainty, and public trust,” he said.

Therefore, he instructed his staff to immediately request the lifting of the transaction suspension on the account.

Meanwhile, Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, also explained the account suspension. He assured that the measure was taken to protect Botok and his donors.

“In this case, colleagues, we are certainly making these efforts in order to provide protection and ensure that, firstly, the personal data of the donors as well as Mr Supriyono or Mr Botok is protected by the state and not used by irresponsible parties for unlawful purposes,” he explained.

“Secondly, to prevent any party from using that personal data for other interests,” he continued.

Iman said his team then examined the account. After the examination, Iman stated that his team has now requested that Botok’s account be reopened.

“We emphasise that after we confirmed with various parties related to the legal event, today we announce that the transaction suspension can now be lifted,” said Senior Commissioner Iman.
