Polda Metro Jaya Bomb Squad Conducts Security Sweep at Java Jazz Festival Venue in PIK 2
Polda Metro Jaya has deployed its Bomb Disposal Unit (Jibom) to conduct a security sweep of the stage ahead of the Java Jazz Festival at Hall 3, A Nice PIK 2 Building, Tangerang Regency. The operation was carried out to ensure the safety and smooth running of the event.
Polda Metro Jaya’s Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the operation was conducted to ensure visitor safety. Checks were also performed to confirm the concert area was free from suspicious items.
“This operation is part of our service to ensure visitor safety,” said Commissioner Budi Hermanto in a statement on Saturday, 30 May 2026.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Unit of Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Henik Maryanto, said the security sweep was a precautionary measure to provide a sense of security for attendees of the music festival. He added that securing public events is part of the police’s service to ensure all proceedings are orderly and conducive.
“No suspicious items or explosives were found during the security sweep. We aim to ensure the public can enjoy the event safely and comfortably,” said Commissioner Henik.
The sweep targeted key areas including the main stage, backstage, audio-visual control room, spectator zones, sponsor booths, and stage buses.
Personnel coordinated with event security committees to ensure checks proceeded smoothly without disrupting preparations.
After the sweep, Jibom personnel handed over the official report to the security committee before moving to their next assignment.
The public was also urged to immediately contact emergency services at 110 if they discover suspicious items or potential security threats in public areas.
