Polda Metro Jaya arrests suspect in South Korean national's murder in Bekasi
Polda Metro Jaya has arrested a suspect in the murder of a South Korean national in Tambun, Bekasi Regency, West Java. Polda Metro Jaya’s Public Relations Chief, Commissioner of Police Budi Hermanto, confirmed on Friday that the suspect had been detained. ‘The suspect has been apprehended, but we are still interrogating him; we will release the results later,’ he said. Meanwhile, Bekasi Metropolitan Police Chief Commissioner Sumarni stated in Jakarta on Friday that her team had processed the crime scene, interviewed witnesses, and gathered evidence. ‘Details will be provided at a press conference,’ she said. Previously, a social media post on Instagram via the @bekasi24jamcom_official account showed the crime scene of the South Korean national’s murder in Bekasi. The account stated that a South Korean national identified as SBC (60) was found dead in his home in South Tambun, Bekasi Regency, on Wednesday (27/5) evening. ‘The victim was discovered bleeding heavily in the dining area and is suspected to be a murder victim,’ the post read. The account also mentioned that locals became aware of the incident after a sudden commotion at the scene. According to residents, the victim was known to be friendly but kept to himself and lived alone. The body has been taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital for an autopsy, while police continue their investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
