Polda Metro Confirms Seized Gold and US Dollars in Febrie Adriansyah Case Are Genuine
Polda Metro Jaya has confirmed that the examination of evidence, including 74 kg of gold and US dollar notes seized in three corruption cases implicating former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah, has been completed. The authenticity of the items has been verified.
“In essence, the gold is genuine, based on testing by Pegadaian. The US dollars were also confirmed as genuine by the United States Secret Service and the FBI, who provided official letters,” said Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, on Friday (17/7/2026).
He added that the Indonesian rupiah notes seized had also been verified as genuine by Bank Indonesia (BI). The police are currently awaiting laboratory results regarding the authenticity of the seized Singapore dollar notes. “We are just waiting for the lab results regarding the SGD. But overall, they are genuine,” he stated.
The three corruption cases involve the coal sector, PT ASABRI (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel (Persero). The evidence was collected from searches at multiple locations, including a luxury residence in Sentul, where 74 kg of gold bars, US$4,767,300, SGD 14,083,800, and Rp 100,000,000 were seized. Additional searches at a money changer in Cipete yielded Rp 4,462,365,000, US$84,356, SGD 83,394, and various other foreign currencies. A further search at a residence in Cilandak uncovered Rp 520,000,000.
