Poignant photographs show a primary school classroom bombed by the US–Israel, with many images of children

A classroom littered with debris is visible at a school in Tehran, Iran, on Tuesday, after the building was damaged in the opening day of the conflict. (Screenshot from Reuters/WANA video) According to Reuters on Friday (6 March 2026), Iran’s state media reported that the school was affected by an attack that occurred during the night as the initial wave of attacks by Israel. Although the school building was damaged, reports said there were no fatalities inside the school. According to state media, at least five people were reported dead in the vicinity of the site. The attack is said to have targeted a Basij base located near the school. On the same day, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei held a weekly press conference at the damaged school site. In his statement, he also mentioned another attack on a school in Minab that reportedly killed 160 students.
