POCO confirms chipset to feature in the X8 Pro series
Jakarta (ANTARA) - POCO has begun to tease the POCO X8 Pro series globally, signalling that its launch is drawing near across markets. One confirmed detail is the chipset specification, sourced from MediaTek. Gizmochina reported on Thursday (5 March) local time that the POCO X8 Pro series would be powered by MediaTek Dimensity chips. According to an image shared on social media, the POCO X8 Pro series will consist of two devices because there are two chips: the Dimensity 8500 Ultra and the Dimensity 9500s. Rumours suggest that the POCO X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max are global variants modified from the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max, which were launched in China at the start of March. The main difference of the series is believed to lie in the battery capacity; the POCO model is thought to have a slightly smaller battery. The POCO X8 Pro may come with a 6500 mAh battery, while the X8 Pro Max edition would have a 7550 mAh battery. Furthermore, leaks indicate that the POCO X8 Pro may feature a 6.59-inch display, while the Pro Max may have a larger panel of 6.83 inches. Both OLED panels may offer a 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. On the camera side, the POCO X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max may each have a 20 MP and 32 MP front camera. The rear panel is likely to be equipped with a 50 MP main camera with OIS and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. The series is expected to come with up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage up to 512GB. The two phones are likely to be available in mint, black, and white colours. The report also reveals that the X8 Pro will include a special Iron Man edition variant.
