PNUP Makassar Lecturer Suspected of Harassing 3 Female Students, Receives Layered Sanctions
One victim initially reported the alleged sexual violence she experienced during a remedial exam to the PNUP Student Executive Board (BEM). The BEM then reported the matter to PNUP’s Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (Satgas PPKS) on Monday (13/4/2026).
“As of 13 April, we reported to the Task Force that there was an act of violence (sexual) because I felt this could not be taken lightly,” said PNUP Makassar BEM President Hendra Saputra, quoted by detikSulsel on Thursday (7/5).
It later emerged that two other female students were also suspected of being harassed by the same lecturer. The Satgas PPKS team then asked BEM officials to bring the three victims for questioning regarding the case.
Proven to Have Committed Harassment
PNUP Makassar spokesperson Rita said the Satgas PPKS team has completed the examination of IS. Based on the task force’s recommendation letter No. 01/KS.RI/PPK/2026 dated 16 April 2026, IS was proven to have committed sexual violence.
“The results of the examination and the task force’s recommendation letter establish that Mr. IS has been proven to have committed acts of sexual violence that impact the victims’ psychological condition, sense of safety, and dignity,” Rita told reporters on Monday (11/5).
Rita explained that the handling of this case refers to Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation 55/2024 on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (PPKPT). In that regulation, all forms of violence in the higher education environment are a priority.
“The Satgas PPKS team has provided sanction recommendations. The task force compiled the examination results and gave firm sanction recommendations to the university leadership (PNUP Director) based on the evidence,” she said.
Rita revealed that PNUP leadership has imposed several administrative sanctions on the perpetrator. One of them is deactivation or temporary dismissal from all academic activities on campus.
