FRM alias Ping (40), a civil servant who works as a teacher in Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), was arrested by police. The reason: FRM allegedly attacked two housewives who are sisters, leaving them in critical condition.

‘FRM is detained on suspicion of committing a criminal act of aggravated assault using a sharp weapon (sajam),’ said Mulyawansyah, head of public relations at Sumbawa Police. The officer said FRM was secured by joint personnel from Lape Police Sector and Sumbawa Resort on Friday night (22 May 2026). It followed a report from the victims’ husband.

‘According to the report, FRM allegedly assaulted Bulaeng (43) and Cantika (40) using a parang. The incident is said to have occurred in front of FRM’s house in Labuan Kuris village, Lape District, Sumbawa Regency, on Friday night,’ he added.

The sequence began when Bulaeng went to shop at a kiosk when she met Rahmatia, FRM’s wife, on the roadside, leading to an argument. ‘It started with a quarrel between FRM’s wife and Bulaeng. FRM then emerged from his house with a parang and hacked Bulaeng once,’ he said.

Shortly after, Cantika—the elder sister of Bulaeng—arrived at the scene. Without further ado, FRM, who is a PNS teacher in Sumbawa, also hacked Cantika with the parang.

As a result, Bulaeng sustained a stab-like wound on her back; Cantika suffered a head laceration. The two sisters are currently receiving medical treatment at Lape Public Health Centre (Puskesmas Lape) in critical condition.

‘The motive behind FRM’s attack on the two housewives is still being investigated,’ Mulyawansyah concluded.
