PNM Wins Four Indonesia Sustainability Awards for ESG Commitment and Empowerment
PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has won four awards at the Indonesia Sustainability Award (ISA) 2026, an appreciation of the company’s commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through inclusive financial services and sustainable community empowerment programmes.
At the event, PNM secured the ESG Leadership Excellence Award, the ESG Excellence award in the State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) category, the Inclusive Social Impact Award, and Best ESG in Financial Services.
ISA 2026 Chairperson Maya Julianti stated that this achievement demonstrates how sustainability principles can be tangibly applied through a business model that focuses not only on corporate growth but also on delivering benefits to society. ESG implementation is considered capable of going hand in hand with creating real social impact. Through empowerment and financial inclusion, PNM has succeeded in delivering benefits directly felt by the community, particularly underprivileged women.
The ESG Leadership Excellence Award was given in recognition of the leadership and strong commitment demonstrated by PNM President Director Kindaris in providing inclusive financial services and ensuring the company’s business practices remain grounded in empowerment and good governance.
Meanwhile, the ESG Excellence award in the BUMN category was granted for PNM’s consistency in carrying out business practices aligned with ESG principles. Through various financing and mentoring programmes, PNM is deemed to have delivered sustainable social benefits while strengthening the role of state-owned enterprises in supporting the community’s economic development.
PNM also received the Inclusive Social Impact Award as a form of appreciation for its success in providing access to financing and empowerment for millions of underprivileged women across remote parts of Indonesia. The jury assessed that PNM’s empowerment approach not only opens access to business capital but also sustainably enhances the capacity and economic independence of its clients.
Furthermore, the Best ESG in Financial Services award was given to PNM for its success in delivering financial services that not only support economic growth but also embed sustainability values in every business process. This award affirms the strategic role of the financial services sector in driving more inclusive and sustainable growth.
PNM President Director Kindaris is committed to continuing to apply ESG principles as an integral part of the company’s strategy. “We realise sustainability not only through good governance but also through the social impact directly felt by the community,” he explained in a statement cited on Saturday (20/6/2026).
This achievement further strengthens PNM’s position as a non-bank financial institution that not only provides financing access for the ultra-micro segment but also acts as a driver of grassroots economic empowerment reaching the 3T (frontier, outermost, and least developed) regions. Through an approach that prioritises inclusion, mentoring, and sustainability, PNM is considered to have successfully created a balance between business performance, social impact, and responsible governance.
