PNM Wins Award as Sharia Microfinance Collaborator, Portfolio Reaches 73 Percent

Sharia-based financing now dominates nearly three-quarters of the total portfolio, leading PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) to win the Outstanding Collaborator in Sharia Microfinance and Economic Independence for Underserved Communities award. The appreciation was received at the 2026 Sharia Economic Ecosystem Supporting Partner Appreciation event organised by CNN Indonesia in collaboration with the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS) as part of the 2026 Adinata Sharia Awards series. This award was given for PNM’s performance as the main driving engine of sharia financial inclusion at the grassroots segment, particularly for ultra-micro entrepreneurs and communities that have long lacked access to formal banking services. The portion of sharia-based financing at PNM now reaches approximately 73 percent of the total financing disbursed by the company, making it one of the institutions helping to expand the reach of sharia finance to the subsistence group. Through this approach, PNM also serves as a bridge for opening bank accounts for people who previously had no banking access, while breaking the chain of dependence of villagers on illegal online loans and conventional loan shark practices that often burden small family economies. PNM President Director Kindaris stated that this award reflects the company’s long journey in assisting ultra-micro entrepreneurs across various corners of the country. ‘Sharia economics is not merely a financing product, but a perspective to ensure every small entrepreneur grows without being entangled in usury or the traps of illegal loans, and PNM proves this with 73 percent sharia-based distribution,’ said Kindaris. This award is expected to further spur PNM to strengthen collaboration with national sharia banks and expand the coverage of sharia-based economic empowerment to more grassroots communities. Going forward, PNM affirmed its commitment to continue being a strategic partner in promoting sharia financial inclusion as the foundation for grassroots economic independence, in line with the spirit of the 2026 Adinata Sharia Awards in strengthening cross-institutional synergy to campaign for sharia financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia.
