PNM Plants 27,000 Trees on 27th Anniversary, Strengthening Commitment to Empowerment and Environment
PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) commemorated its 27th anniversary, coinciding with Pancasila Day on 1 June, by organising various activities that underscore the company’s commitment to community empowerment and environmental preservation. The celebrations commenced with a Pancasila Day ceremony attended by over 2,700 PNM employees in Jakarta, themed ‘Pancasila as the Unifier of the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace’.
PNM President Director, Kindaris, stated that Pancasila values serve as a vital foundation for the company’s mission to empower underprivileged communities through access to financing and business assistance. He noted that while future challenges are increasing, strong synergy and commitment from all employees are essential to continue delivering benefits to society. He emphasised that PNM’s empowerment spirit aligns with the goal of achieving social justice, particularly for micro-business groups and low-income populations requiring capital access.
This year’s anniversary adopts the philosophy ‘Together in Every Step, Accompanying in Every Journey’, reflecting PNM’s dedication to supporting micro-entrepreneurs across various regions. This spirit is further bolstered by the #PNMuntukUMKM and #PNMPemberdayaanUMKM campaigns, which are central to the company’s strategy for expanding economic empowerment.
Kindaris added that the 27th anniversary is a pivotal moment for strengthening transformation and expanding positive impact. He noted that the change in the ownership status of Series A Dual-Class Shares, which returned PNM to its position as a state-owned enterprise (Persero), provides new energy to enhance performance and services.
Beyond economic empowerment, PNM reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability. To mark 27 years of operation, the company conducted a simultaneous tree-planting action across Indonesia, planting 27,000 trees in 58 operational areas to support ecosystem balance. Kindaris remarked that tree planting symbolises the spirit of empowerment; just as trees require time to grow and provide benefits, community empowerment requires consistency, patience, and sustainability. Through these initiatives, PNM aims to act as a financing institution that focuses not only on economic growth but also on social and environmental aspects, supporting long-term sustainable development in Indonesia.
