Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), a state-owned enterprise, is expanding financing access to frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped (3T) regions as part of efforts to promote equity and strengthen the foundation of the people’s economy.

PNM President Director Kindaris stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that the expansion is being conducted through the Programme for Fostering the Economy of Pre-Prosperous Families (Mekaar). The Mekaar programme aims to ensure that financing access and mentoring can be felt by communities across the Indonesian archipelago, including 3T regions.

According to Kindaris, since receiving the state mandate in 1999, PNM has consistently expanded services to ultra-micro business actors who were previously beyond the reach of formal financial services. Through the Mekaar programme, PNM not only provides financing but also business mentoring and financial education to enhance the capacity and sustainability of its clients’ enterprises.

“The real strength lies in the mothers who choose every day to rise, work, and safeguard their families’ hopes. Our task is to ensure they do not walk alone and continue to have room to grow,” Kindaris said.

He added that empowering women ultra-micro entrepreneurs generates broad economic impact by increasing household purchasing power, driving economic activity at the village level, and creating new business opportunities and jobs across various regions. The expansion of financing access to 3T areas is part of the company’s commitment to ensuring every entrepreneur has an equal opportunity to develop their business, unhindered by geographical location.

PNM’s presence across Indonesia is realised through services that reach communities directly. This approach not only opens access to business capital but also strengthens the capacity of entrepreneurs to scale up their businesses sustainably. “By expanding financing access and mentoring for women ultra-micro entrepreneurs, PNM supports the realisation of more inclusive economic growth down to the grassroots level,” Kindaris concluded.
