PNM Expands Financial Access to Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged Regions Through 516 Service Networks
PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) is expanding financing access and community empowerment to frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) regions through 516 service units, aiming to reduce the gap in formal financial services in areas facing geographical challenges. PNM President Director Kindaris stated that the company currently operates 4,035 service units across Indonesia, with the expansion into 3T areas representing more than 10 percent of its total network. ‘PNM is present through 4,035 units, of which 516 are located in 3T regions. This means more than 10 percent of PNM’s service network reaches areas with challenging terrain,’ Kindaris said in a statement on Monday (13/7/2026).
He explained that the network expansion aims to provide financing access and mentoring for underprivileged communities, particularly women running ultra-micro businesses. According to Kindaris, access to financial services not only influences business development but also enhances family independence and drives economic activity at the village level. Therefore, expanding services to 3T regions is not merely a business strategy but part of an effort to broaden the equitable distribution of economic opportunities.
PNM also stated its readiness to strengthen this role through synergy under Danantara Indonesia. Chief Operating Officer of Danantara Indonesia and Deputy for State-Owned Enterprises, Dony Oskaria, previously emphasised the importance of directing financing to productive sectors capable of creating jobs, boosting competitiveness, and delivering economic impact to the community, including through the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
In addition to financing, PNM noted that business mentoring is a crucial part of its empowerment model. The programme includes strengthening entrepreneurial capacity, financial literacy, and character building to ensure that the financing disbursed can sustainably improve customers’ quality of life. Kindaris added that this approach aligns with the service quality enhancement driven by the Danantara Indonesia CX100 programme. ‘Success is not measured by how far we disburse financing, but by how far we can bring hope to the most hard-to-reach areas. Under the Danantara umbrella, we have greater optimism to expand financing access and empowerment to the remote corners of Indonesia,’ Kindaris said.
