PNM Expands Education Access from Scholarships to PNM Smart Rooms in Remote Areas
Education remains the primary foundation for building the quality of human resources. The government itself has positioned the education sector as a strategic priority in national development, reflected in President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita, particularly point 4, which emphasises human resource development through strengthening the education sector.
In line with this direction, PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) continues to commit to expanding access to education, especially for underprivileged families. By May 2026, PNM has distributed educational scholarships to more than 4,058 children of clients, from primary school to higher education levels, as an effort to break the chain of poverty through education.
Not only that, PNM also introduces the Ruang Pintar programme as an alternative learning facility for children of clients and the surrounding community. This programme targets children from primary to secondary school age, with an interactive and inclusive learning approach. To date, 160 Ruang Pintar facilities have been established in various regions of Indonesia, reaching 6,017 learners.
This step is part of PNM’s ongoing commitment to supporting improvements in literacy and education quality. On the occasion of National Education Day 2026, themed ‘Strengthening Universal Participation to Realise Quality Education for All’, it serves as a reminder that cross-sector collaboration is key to delivering equitable education.
PNM’s Corporate Secretary, Dodot Patria Ary, stated that access to decent education is the right of every child, including children from underprivileged families who are part of PNM’s ecosystem. ‘We believe that education is an important path to opening opportunities and a better future. We want to ensure that our clients’ children not only grow up in an economically empowered environment but also have access to quality education. To that end, we are committed to continuing to expand support through scholarship programmes and strengthening PNM Ruang Pintar so that more Indonesian children can learn and dream higher,’ said Dodot.
PNM is committed to providing learning access for Indonesian children so they can continue schooling and achieve their aspirations. The simple support provided becomes a concrete step to ensure education can be reached by more families.
