PNM Creates Ripple Effect for Coastal Environment and Economy on World Mangrove Day

PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) is reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation through its PNM Green Impact programme. In commemoration of World Mangrove Day, PNM collaborated with local governments, environmental communities, the public, and its fostered customers to simultaneously plant 22,000 mangrove trees across 18 coastal areas in Indonesia. This initiative is part of PNM’s ongoing commitment, which includes a target to plant 196,700 mangroves at 58 locations nationwide between 2024 and 2026, aiming to preserve coastal ecosystems while strengthening the economic resilience of local communities. For PNM, environmental stewardship cannot be separated from empowerment efforts. Many of PNM’s customers run businesses that depend on coastal ecosystems, ranging from fisheries and marine cultivation to trading and culinary ventures based on fishermen’s catches. When coastal erosion and environmental degradation threaten these areas, it is not only nature that suffers, but also the sustainability of businesses and family livelihoods.
