PNM Bergerak Distributes Aid and Assists Earthquake Victims in NTT
PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero), through its PNM Peduli programme, continues to distribute aid to residents sheltering in evacuation centres after an earthquake struck East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The company had previously confirmed the condition of its employees and customers.
The earthquake that occurred on Saturday, 15 August 2026, affected 47 PNM work units in the Flores region. As monitoring was carried out, the condition of 792 PNM employees was successfully confirmed. Coordination with PNM’s regional network continues to provide a picture of the condition of affected communities, customers, and PNM personnel.
The response was strengthened by activating the RESPATI team to conduct rapid assessments in several areas. On Sunday, 16 August, the team began moving with initial supplies of instant food and medicines.
From field mapping, community needs were found to extend beyond food. Vulnerable groups in evacuation centres also required baby formula and nappies, sanitary pads, and hygiene supplies. PNM adjusted its aid to better match these needs.
On Monday, 17 August, 147 aid packages worth Rp144 million were dispatched, reaching 1,347 beneficiaries at eight evacuation points and affected areas.
“In a disaster situation, community needs can change rapidly. Therefore, PNM Peduli does not only focus on sending aid, but first examines the conditions and needs on the ground. We hope the assistance provided truly benefits the affected communities and PNM personnel,” said Made Dwantara Wijaya, Head of PNM Denpasar Branch.
On Tuesday, 18 August, the RESPATI team and the PNM Denpasar Branch team distributed aid to the Alok Timur area, providing basic food packages and personal hygiene and health supplies worth Rp15 million.
The following day, the PNM Denpasar Branch team, together with the RESPATI team and PNM Peduli, again reached three evacuation points in Sambi Rampas and surrounding areas, namely the Golosita Post, Wangkung Post, and Sambi Rampas District Post.
At least 1,101 displaced people received aid including mineral water, rice, instant noodles, eggs, sardines, bread, cooking oil, and milk. At the Golosita Post, 158 evacuees, the majority of whom are PNM Mekaar customers, also received assistance.
The team’s journey did not stop at evacuation posts. PNM Peduli also supported the needs of public kitchens in the Reok area and its surroundings by purchasing supplies such as rice, eggs, instant noodles, mineral water, bread, cooking oil, and other food items.
Amid conditions that have not fully recovered, the aid serves as a form of support to help communities meet their most basic needs. However, for PNM, disaster response does not end with aid distribution.
PNM continues to monitor the condition of employees and customers in affected areas. For PNM Mekaar customers, the impact of the disaster can also mean the halt of business activities and reduced family income. Therefore, their condition and needs will continue to be part of PNM’s monitoring during the recovery process.
“We want to ensure that when communities are in difficult situations, PNM does not only come bringing aid, but also remains with them until conditions gradually recover. After emergency needs are met, we will continue to assess follow-up needs, including how customers can resume their activities and businesses,” said PNM President Director Kindaris.
Through PNM Peduli, PNM will monitor developments on the ground and reach areas requiring support. From one post to another, aid is delivered based on the actual needs of the community. PNM also seeks to ensure that those affected know that even in difficult times, they are not walking alone.
