The enhancement of capacity for Sharia-based MSME actors, increasingly relevant amid the need for sustainable business, is the focus of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) alongside the Masyarakat Ekonomi Syariah (MES) through the Kick-off of the Mba Maya (Membina dan Memberdaya) Programme for 2026.

The event, held on Wednesday (6/5/2026), also featured a webinar titled Blessed Business within the Framework of Sharia Economics with Sharia Economics Practitioner, Siti Ma’rifah, to promote the development of Sharia-based MSMEs, particularly Mekaar customers.

The Minister of Cooperatives of the Republic of Indonesia and also the Daily Chairman of PP MES, Ferry Juliantono, appreciated PNM’s consistency in involving MES as a strategic partner in empowering Sharia-based MSMEs.

“That collaboration serves as a real synergy in strengthening MSME empowerment, especially for the mother customers of Mekaar,” he stated.

Ferry said that capacity building and continuous mentoring are important factors for MSMEs to grow and advance amid evolving economic dynamics.

Throughout 2025, the Mba Maya Programme was implemented through 248 activities in 20 districts/cities and reached more than 10,000 participants. MES was also involved in halal MSME training and mentoring programmes in several regions.

“With synergy between MSMEs, Sharia cooperatives, and financing support, we are optimistic that this effort can drive more inclusive growth in the real sector while improving community welfare,” said Ferry.

At the same time, the President Director of PT PNM, Arief Mulyadi, added that the collaboration with MES is part of PNM’s efforts to strengthen the Sharia-based customer empowerment ecosystem.

“Approximately 73 percent of PNM Mekaar financing is Sharia-based. Therefore, cooperation with MES is highly relevant in strengthening customer empowerment and mentoring,” he stated.

He added that the collaboration is also manifested through the halal certification programme for MSME customers. To date, around 2,300 PNM customers have obtained halal certificates through joint mentoring with MES.

As a follow-up to the collaboration, the 2026 Mba Maya Programme is planned to be implemented in 41 districts/cities across various regions of Indonesia to expand the reach of empowerment and mentoring for MSME actors.
