PNM and MES Collaborate for Sharia Economy
PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) and Masyarakat Ekonomi Syariah (MES) are collaborating on the Mba Maya (Membina dan Memberdaya) programme, an empowerment initiative focused on female customers, particularly underprivileged mothers.
PNM’s President Director, Arief Mulyadi, stated, “We (PNM) are committed to continuously promoting women’s empowerment, especially through the sharia ecosystem. Currently, 73% of PNM’s financing is sharia-based, and we have also facilitated more than 2,300 halal certifications for our customers’ businesses. This is our concrete step to support women’s economic empowerment in Indonesia.”
Indonesia’s Minister of Cooperatives, Ferry Juliantono, who also serves as the Daily Chairman of the MES Central Board, expressed appreciation to PNM for the programme’s positive impact on underprivileged mothers across Indonesia. “This programme aligns with President Prabowo’s Astacita, namely building from the villages and from the bottom, for economic equality and poverty eradication,” he said.
He also added that LPDB should emulate PNM’s Command Centre, which displays an excellent data dashboard, “So that its Command Centre can be emulated because the data presentation can transform static data into very dynamic data needed for policy-making considerations.”
The event was attended by more than 30,000 PNM customers in a hybrid format (offline and online). The programme is expected to strengthen women’s business capabilities in the sharia economy through ongoing training and mentoring. The event was also attended by Ari Permana, Director of Sharia Financing at LPDB, and Siti Ma’rifah, MES board member and speaker at the event.
This collaboration between PNM and MES not only expands the impact of women’s empowerment but also underscores the important role of the sharia economy in building sustainable community welfare in Indonesia.
