PMSol Develops Digital Innovation to Enhance HSSE Management
PT Pertamina Marine Solutions (PMSol) is strengthening its Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) management through the utilisation of digital technology. This initiative includes the digitalisation of HSSE induction processes for ship crews and outsourced personnel prior to onboarding.
The digitalisation covers all induction stages, ranging from registration and the uploading of supporting documents—such as Medical Check-Up (MCU) data and training certificates—to pre-tests, a Training Demo Room, post-tests, and the issuance of a digital HSSE Passport.
Whilst the HSSE induction process previously relied on physical documents, including MCU results and training certificates, the entire process is now integrated digitally through the official HSSE Induction website. This system does not merely convert physical documents into digital formats but also enables workers to complete induction stages independently via mobile devices or computers.
Every worker is required to participate in an interactive tour of the demo room as part of the introductory module. Following this, workers can complete administrative tasks, training materials, and final examinations (post-tests) using their own devices. Once all stages are completed, the system automatically issues a digital HSSE Passport accessible to the respective worker.
This digitalisation also simplifies field supervision. Supervisors no longer need to inspect documents individually; instead, they can simply scan the barcode on a worker’s digital card. Health status and training history can be displayed within seconds.
In addition to administrative efficiency, the digital system is equipped with a specialised reporting barcode feature. This feature allows workers to report indications of misconduct or fraud more easily and quickly, supporting a clean and safe working environment.
PMSol is also developing several other digital innovations, such as the Digital Medical Check-Up (MCU) to manage the health examination process comprehensively, as well as P-HORSE, or the Pertamina HSSE Online Reporting System Excellence.
P-HORSE supports the reporting of Unsafe Acts and Unsafe Conditions, as well as integrated follow-up monitoring. The company’s commitment to a safety culture is also demonstrated through various programmes, including the regular Corporate Life Saving Rules (CLSR) assembly, which serves as a means to strengthen awareness of occupational risks and the implementation of a safe working culture.
