Banda Aceh (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Service Team for Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province, distributed cleaning equipment packages to several schools still affected by floods and covered in mud in Seruway District. “We are distributing cleaning supplies so that schools, together with the community, can quickly remove mud and dirt from the flood,” said Waly Umar, PMI Aceh Tamiang Service Coordinator, in Aceh Tamiang on Saturday. The aid distributed includes various cleaning items to support school-area cleaning activities from flood impacts so that teaching and learning can resume normally. The distributed packages include four trolley wheelbarrows, 40 broom sticks, 40 floor brushes, 40 scrub cloths, 10 shovels, 40 scoops, 10 water scoops, and 40 spades. Waly Umar said that this aid is a form of PMI’s concern in supporting the recovery of the school environment after a disaster. “We hope teaching and learning activities can resume soon in a comfortable and safe manner for students,” he said. PMI Aceh Tamiang is committed to helping communities in various emergency situations, including recovery efforts through humanitarian support for affected communities. On this occasion, the head of SDN Mabar Suryani appreciated the aid provided by PMI Aceh Tamiang. “Our school condition was previously filled with mud due to floods, so these cleaning tools will greatly help us and the community in cleaning the school environment so that children can return to learning comfortably,” she said.
