PM Starmer urges acceleration of Ukraine's air defence systems

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called for the acceleration of air defence system production and increased weapons deliveries from the stocks of the ‘coalition of the willing’ to Ukraine. ‘We must do everything possible to ensure Ukraine has the air defence systems they need to prevent further unnecessary loss of life. That includes accelerating the production of air defence systems, donating more from our stocks, and supporting Ukrainian innovation,’ Starmer said at a press conference in Paris on Monday. Starmer added that after joining the European Union’s 90 billion euro loan programme for Ukraine, the UK is ready to supply more ammunition, air defence systems, and long-range missiles. He also reminded that the coalition of the willing for Ukraine, comprising more than 25 countries, has prepared the deployment of troops to Ukraine ‘within days’ after a ceasefire is reached.
