PM Modi in Front of Prabowo: A Very Pleasant Stay Here

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a pleasant experience during his visit to Indonesia. He felt a sense of peace amidst the country’s diverse society. “This is my third day in Indonesia. During this three-day visit, I have had a very, very pleasant experience staying here. I can sense the fragrance of life and the dynamism of its people,” Modi said during a joint press statement with President Prabowo Subianto at the Prambanan Temple complex in Sleman, Yogyakarta, on Wednesday. Modi expressed his gratitude to all elements of Indonesian society for preserving the over-a-thousand-year-old Hindu temple. He stressed that this heritage must be protected together. “I want to thank all the citizens of this country for preserving this cultural heritage, as well as the entire government and administrative ranks who have contributed to this,” he stated. “Whether during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in Lhasa, or when coming to this sacred temple in Indonesia, I can hear the holy Mrityunjaya Mantra echoing, ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ resounding. This is our shared cultural heritage,” Modi added. On this basis, Modi committed to accelerating cooperation for the conservation and restoration of Prambanan Temple. He believes this collaboration will bring benefits to Indonesia’s tourism sector. “And at this magnificent temple complex in Yogyakarta, renovation work is underway. This place is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site,” he said. “I can assure you, after our joint efforts in this renovation, the number of tourists and devotees from India will grow exponentially in the times to come,” he added. Modi pledged to continue preserving all cultural heritage related to India. “And wherever and whenever we travel around the world, we can catch a glimpse of Indian culture and heritage,” he said.
