PM Goh Chok Tong to visit Japan

TOKYO (AFP): Singapore's Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong will
visit Japan next week, the Japanese foreign ministry said
yesterday.

During his five-day visit starting Aug. 27, Goh will meet
Japanese Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto and business leaders.

Goh and Hashimoto will "discuss many issues ranging from
relations between Japan and the Association of Southeast Asian
Nations (ASEAN) to Cambodian situations," a ministry official
said.

The visit, Goh's third to Japan since becoming prime minister
in September 1991, will come before a Japan-ASEAN summit in
Malaysia in December.
