PM Anwar: Israeli Citizens Found in Malaysia Will Be Deported

Istanbul (ANTARA) - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Wednesday affirmed that any Israeli citizen found in Malaysia will be immediately deported.

The policy comes as authorities investigate the alleged involvement of an Israeli national in the operations of a private residential community in the state of Johor, Malaysia.

Anwar said the relevant institutions are investigating the allegations and the government will not compromise if the allegations prove true, as reported by the English-language daily Free Malaysia Today.

“If we find Israeli citizens, we will deport them immediately because we do not recognise Israel,” Anwar said.

Malaysia’s Home Ministry launched an investigation after the Johor state government asked the federal government to probe allegations involving Network School, a startup community based in Johor.

Separately, the Immigration Department said on Wednesday that 266 foreign nationals inspected at an international community in Forest City were found to have valid immigration documents.
