Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that any Israeli citizens found in Malaysia will be promptly deported. The policy comes as authorities investigate the alleged involvement of an Israeli national in the operations of a private residential community in the state of Johor. Anwar stated that relevant agencies are investigating the allegations and the government will not compromise if they are proven true. “If we find Israelis, we will immediately deport them because we do not recognise Israel,” Anwar said. Israeli passport holders are generally barred from entering Malaysia without special permission, as the country does not recognise Israel. The Home Ministry launched the investigation following a request from the Johor state government to probe the allegations involving Network School, a startup community based in Johor. Separately, the Immigration Department stated on Wednesday that 266 foreign nationals checked at an international community in Forest City were found to have valid immigration documents.
