JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto received a phone call from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Tuesday afternoon (21/4/2026).

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed that the discussion between the two national leaders focused on Indonesia’s urea fertiliser exports to Australia.

“PM Albanese conveyed his appreciation for the President’s approval regarding the export of Indonesian urea fertiliser to Australia amounting to 250,000 tonnes in the first phase,” said Teddy in a post on Instagram @sekretariat.kabinet on Tuesday (21/6/2026).

“Going forward, part of the urea fertiliser will also be exported to India, the Philippines, Thailand, and Brazil, with a total export commitment of approximately 1 million tonnes,” he stated.

Teddy also quoted data from Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, stating that the total national urea production is 7.8 million tonnes.

“This step is expected to maintain domestic supply resilience while strengthening Indonesia’s contribution to the global market,” Teddy added.
