The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) plunged deeper, touching the level of 5,348.95, representing a drop of 245.82 points or 4.39% during the first trading session. Massive selling occurred across almost all sectors of the market. A total of 606 stocks were recorded as weakening, while only 57 stocks strengthened, and 296 stocks remained stagnant. A correction of more than 4% within approximately 10 minutes of trading indicates very aggressive selling pressure that continues to dominate the morning market. The IHSG correction is inseparable from the Indonesian financial market, which continues to face dynamics ranging from war to investors closely monitoring domestic conditions.
Furthermore, over the weekend, Iran reportedly launched missiles towards Israel on Sunday (7/6/2026), the first time since the ceasefire between Tehran and Washington came into effect in April. This has increased global uncertainty. The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammed Baqer Ghalibaf, accused the US naval blockade and Israeli attacks in Lebanon of violating the agreement, stating that US bases and Israeli assets in the region are now legitimate targets. US President Donald Trump, having received reports on the attack, stated that Iran’s actions would not assist the negotiation process. Trump is also reportedly planning to contact Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to advise against retaliating against the Iranian attack.
