Pluang reports sixfold growth in US stock investors over three years
Pluang has recorded a sixfold increase in the number of investors actively trading US stocks each month over the past three years, with the number of beginner investors in the asset class surging 63-fold during the same period. The growth is increasingly visible outside major metropolitan areas, as 38 percent of Pluang’s US stock investors now reside in secondary and tertiary cities, and the platform’s services have reached more than 300 cities and regencies across Indonesia.
Director of Marketing & Commercial Pluang Andreas Agung Hendrawan said Indonesian investors are becoming more adept at identifying new growth opportunities. “With a more global mindset, they are pursuing world-class opportunities to complement, not replace, their local portfolios,” he noted in a statement on Friday.
The rising interest in global assets is also reflected in the asset under management (AUM) for US stocks and ETFs on Pluang, which has grown 19-fold over the past three years. In the first quarter of 2026, approximately one in five new Pluang investors started their investment journey through US stocks and ETFs. Furthermore, more than 70 percent of investors who first purchased global stocks a year ago have retained their holdings, indicating a shift towards long-term diversification strategies rather than short-term speculation.
Andreas added that the development of artificial intelligence (AI) companies has further fuelled demand for access to global markets. Citing Goldman Sachs 2026 data, he highlighted that AI-related firms now account for roughly 45 percent of the S&P 500’s market capitalisation. Pluang currently offers access to over 650 US stocks and ETFs, including through fractional ownership mechanisms. For more experienced investors, the platform also provides instruments such as options and leverage.
Pluang has fully transitioned its US stock and ETF products to the PALN scheme, which facilitates the routing of customer mandates to overseas exchanges. Under this framework, Pluang collaborates with PT PG Berjangka, which holds a futures broker licence from Bappebti and an intermediary licence for financial derivatives from the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Transactions are recorded on the Jakarta Futures Exchange (JFX) and guaranteed by the Indonesian Futures Clearing House (KBI), while execution on US exchanges is handled through Alpaca Securities LLC. The scheme enables investors to hold fractional ownership of underlying shares and receive proportional dividend rights. Since the launch of its global stock products, Pluang investors have reportedly received total dividend payments amounting to tens of billions of rupiah.
“As the outlook of Indonesians becomes increasingly global, our task is not merely to provide access, but also to continuously raise the standards of quality, transparency, and investor protection behind it,” Andreas said. Pluang is a multi-asset investment and trading application operated by PT Bumi Santosa Cemerlang, with more than 13 million registered users and access to over 2,000 assets, including Indonesian stocks, crypto, US stocks, ETFs, digital gold, crypto futures, options, and mutual funds.
