Plogging Action in Bali Collects 100 kg of Waste
The coastal area of Petitenget, Bali, witnessed a tangible collaboration between a healthy lifestyle and environmental awareness. Through an initiative titled ‘Pure Path: Plogging for a Better Future’, AMOREPACIFIC Indonesia successfully collected more than 100 kilogrammes of waste through a plogging action—an activity combining jogging with litter picking.
The activity involved synergy between company employees, local residents, and environmental partner Malu Dong Foundation. Its main focus is to encourage public participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness through simple activities that can be integrated into daily life.
AMOREPACIFIC Indonesia President Director Kyuho Lee emphasised that the company’s concept of beauty now extends to the realm of nature conservation. According to him, self-care and caring for the earth are two things that must go hand in hand.
‘True beauty is more than just self-care; it reflects how we care for the environment around us. Through Pure Path, we want to make environmental care actions part of a natural and enjoyable lifestyle,’ said Kyuho Lee.
This programme is a continuation of the company’s sustainability roadmap that began in previous years, including river clean-up actions and ecosystem restoration.
As a form of long-term commitment, AMOREPACIFIC Indonesia also channelled financial support of Rp100 million to the Malu Dong Foundation. The organisation, which has been active for 17 years, will use the funds to expand education and community outreach programmes related to waste management.
Malu Dong Foundation founder Komang Sudiarta welcomed this initiative. He stressed that significant environmental change always starts from concrete individual actions that then become a collective culture.
‘Initiatives like Pure Path help build a culture where environmental awareness merges into part of everyday lifestyle. With this support, we can create a wider impact in various regions,’ said Komang.
Through this spirit, it is hoped that simple actions like plogging can inspire more communities to contribute to creating a greener and more sustainable future.
