PLN's Angkringan in Asinan Tourism Village Boosts Local Economy

An angkringan supported by PLN in Asinan Tourism Village, Bawen District, Semarang Regency, is beginning to stimulate the local economy. The business unit, managed by the Svargha Jaghat Anugraha Community Awareness Group for Tourism (Pokdarwis), recorded turnover exceeding Rp10 million in the first three months of 2026.

Based on data from January to March 2026, the angkringan served 293 visitors with total turnover of Rp10,785,000. This figure indicates the emerging vitality of community-based tourism, providing direct income for residents.

Visitor numbers dipped during Ramadan, but the managers adapted their strategy by offering iftar packages and halal bihalal gatherings. As of 25 April 2026, six groups totalling 230 people have made special reservations.

Pokdarwis Chairman Slamet views this success as the result of a long learning process for the community. “We started from zero, learned together, and now we’re starting to see the results. We hope Asinan Village can become more widely known through this angkringan cuisine,” said Slamet in a statement received on Saturday (18/4/2026).

The menu offered ranges from Rp30,000 to Rp35,000 per package, combining the angkringan concept with grill and shabu elements. This innovation serves as a new attraction for visitors seeking a different culinary experience in the tourism village.

General Manager of PLN UIP2B Jamali, Munawwar Furqan, praised the development and deemed the steps taken appropriate. “The steps taken by Pokdarwis are on the right track. We hope this sparks the birth of more independent and competitive village SMEs,” said Munawwar.

PLN’s support includes business mentoring and facility construction since 2025, such as parking areas, a mushola, toilets, and souvenir shops. This infrastructure enhances tourist comfort and strengthens the location’s appeal. PLN is also continuing training to boost the capacity of Pokdarwis members.
