PLN Yogyakarta Distributes Food Aid to Support Community Welfare
PT PLN (Persero) Yogyakarta Main Distribution Unit (UID), through its Sleman Customer Service Unit (UP3) and the PLN Baitul Maal Foundation (YBM), has distributed food aid packages to the community as a form of social concern and commitment to delivering benefits to the surrounding environment. The distribution was carried out at three locations: Nurul Yasmin Orphanage, Bina Remaja Donoharjo Orphanage, and to residents around the Anwar Futuhiyyah Islamic Boarding School in Sokomartani, Sleman. The peak event was held on Sunday (19/7/2026) at the Anwar Futuhiyyah Islamic Boarding School, where the food aid was handed over directly by Independent Commissioner of PT PLN (Persero), Prof Ali Masykur Musa, to residents near the boarding school. Prof Ali stated that PLN’s presence is not only realised through the provision of reliable electricity but also through various social activities that provide direct benefits to the community. ‘This is a form of PLN’s concern and contribution in supporting community welfare. This activity is part of PLN’s efforts to remain present in the community and share benefits,’ he said. General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) Yogyakarta Main Distribution Unit, Deri Prasetio Utomo, said that care for the community is an inseparable part of PLN’s commitment to delivering services that are not only reliable but also have a sustainable social impact. ‘PLN believes that the company’s success is not only measured by the reliability of electricity services, but also by the extent to which PLN’s presence can benefit the community. Through collaboration with YBM PLN and PIKK PLN, we want to foster a spirit of sharing while strengthening relationships with the community. We hope this assistance can be beneficial and become a source of encouragement for our brothers and sisters in need,’ said Deri. Meanwhile, PLN UP3 Sleman Manager, Ririn Harwati, said that this social activity is part of PLN’s commitment to providing added value beyond electricity services. ‘PLN is not only committed to providing a reliable electricity supply, but also wants to continue contributing to social activities that have a positive impact on the community. This activity is a tangible manifestation of the spirit of mutual cooperation and care of PLN personnel for others,’ said Ririn. Through this activity, PLN hopes to continue strengthening relationships with the community while fostering a spirit of sharing and social concern. PLN will continue to promote various social responsibility programmes that provide sustainable benefits for the community and support the realisation of shared prosperity.
