PLN West Java Deploys 4,993 Personnel to Ensure Reliable Electricity Supply During Homecoming and Eid Season
AHEAD of the Eid homecoming rush and Eid celebrations, PT PLN West Java has mobilised 4,993 personnel to maintain reliable electricity supply. In addition, supporting equipment has also been deployed. During this period, PLN UID West Java will ensure the electrical system remains in safe condition.
Supply capacity has been set at 16,106 megawatts (MW). The highest peak load is projected to occur on 30 March 2026 at 8,085 MW, leaving a power reserve of approximately 8,021 MW.
Meanwhile, on Eid Day, 21 March 2026, peak load is projected to reach 5,139 MW with a power reserve of 10,967 MW. Under these conditions, PLN ensures electricity supply in West Java remains sufficient and reliable.
General Manager of PLN West Java, Sugeng Widodo, stated that PLN has prepared various anticipatory measures to maintain the reliability of the electrical system whilst the community observes Ramadan through the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
“PLN UID West Java is implementing Eid Alert operations by mobilising all available resources. We are committed to ensuring electricity supply remains reliable and of high quality so that the community can observe Ramadan and celebrate Eid al-Fitr comfortably,” he said.
To support this preparedness, PLN UID West Java has deployed 4,993 personnel who will be on duty 24 hours a day. These personnel are supported by 437 operational vehicles and 247 motorcycles to accelerate response in the event of electrical disruptions.
Additionally, PLN has mobilised various supporting equipment, including 112 generator units, 124 Mobile Substation Units (UGB), 10 Mobile Cable Units (UKB), 32 UPS units, and 23 cranes to support the reliability of the electrical system.
As a coordination centre during the alert period, PLN West Java has also established 289 alert posts distributed throughout its operating area. Electricity supply security is focused on 545 priority locations, comprising 132 places of worship, 205 vital institutions and facilities, 67 transport points, 114 tourist attractions, and 27 rest areas that are expected to experience increased activity during the homecoming rush and Eid holidays.
Sugeng added that all PLN personnel are on full alert 24 hours a day to ensure the electrical system remains reliable so that the community can celebrate Eid with peace of mind.
“Eid is a very important time for the community. Therefore, all PLN officers are on full alert to maintain reliable electricity during the Eid Alert period,” he concluded.
