PLN West Java Boosts 24-Hour Vigilance to Secure Power Supply During School Holidays
The performance of PLN’s West Java Load Control Unit (UP2B Jabar) is being continuously optimised through increased operational preparedness to maintain the reliability of electricity supply across the West Java region during the school holiday period. This measure is being taken to anticipate changes in electricity consumption patterns as community activity increases in tourist areas, shopping centres, hotels, public facilities, and residential zones.
General Manager of PLN’s Java, Madura, and Bali Load Control Unit (UIP2B Jamali), Munawwar Furqan, stated that through 24-hour operation of the electrical system every day, PLN ensures the system management process runs safely, reliably, and efficiently so that the public can enjoy their holiday comfortably. System reliability is the result of collaboration among all PLN personnel, including dispatchers who are at the forefront of system operations.
“The dispatcher’s task is not merely monitoring computer screens. Every decision taken must be based on accurate technical analysis, intensive coordination, and collaboration between units so that any potential disruption can be anticipated early and system recovery can be carried out quickly if necessary,” Munawwar said.
As the unit responsible for managing the electric power system operations in West Java, PLN UP2B Jabar plays a role in maintaining the balance between supply and demand, controlling power flow on the transmission network, and ensuring the system operates in optimal condition. Behind this process, dispatchers work 24 hours a day from the operations control room to monitor system conditions and make quick decisions when changes or potential disruptions occur. PLN’s performance in maintaining system reliability is supported by human resource competence, the use of digital technology, and integrated operational coordination.
In addition to monitoring system conditions in real time, dispatchers also ensure the system load balance is maintained. When consumption patterns change, such as during the school holiday period, they manage system operations so that power distribution remains optimal, voltage quality is maintained, and supply continuity is preserved. These efforts are part of PLN’s performance in providing reliable electricity services to the public.
