PT PLN (Persero) Bogor Training and Development Unit (UPDL), in collaboration with Filantra, has launched the PLN 2026 Desa Berdaya programme in Pasir Angin Village. As part of PLN’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Environment (TJSL) programme, this initiative aims to strengthen local community potential through business development based on empowerment and sustainable village economics.

The event was attended by PLN UPDL Bogor Manager Ahmad Ridani, Pasir Angin Village Secretary, Bina Mandiri Women Farmer Group (KWT) Chairperson, Filantra representatives, and local residents. This marks the initial step in cultivating melons as the village’s flagship commodity, expected to sustainably enhance productivity and economic independence.

The PLN 2026 Desa Berdaya programme focuses on developing innovative melon-derived products with economic added value. Beyond cultivation, it promotes downstreaming of harvested crops into processed goods with competitive edge and broader market potential.

To support sustainable community business, PLN UPDL Bogor and Filantra symbolically handed over production equipment to the Bina Mandiri Women Farmer Group to aid processing and business development activities.

Ensuring Business Legitimacy

Beyond strengthening production facilities, PLN UPDL Bogor is committed to guiding the legal compliance of community businesses, from Halal certification to BPOM permits, ensuring melon processed products meet quality, safety, and competitiveness standards for wider market access.

PLN UPDL Bogor Manager Ahmad Ridani stated that the PLN 2026 Desa Berdaya programme reflects PLN’s commitment to empowering communities through sustainable local potential development.

“This programme aims to drive village economic growth through innovative, value-added melon products. We want the community to grow independently, productively, and sustainably competitive,” Ridani said.

A Filantra representative expressed appreciation for the synergy with PLN UPDL Bogor in implementing the PLN 2026 Desa Berdaya programme, hoping the collaboration would deliver tangible impacts on community capacity-building and local-potential-based village economic development.

This aligns with the guidance from PLN Training and Development Centre General Manager Y. Endah Cahyaningrum on the importance of strengthening sustainable community empowerment programmes through collaboration, competency enhancement, and local potential development to create tangible social and economic impacts for the community.

Pasir Angin Village Secretary Deim Samsudin praised PLN UPDL Bogor’s support through the PLN 2026 Desa Berdaya programme, which he believes opens opportunities for community economic development based on local village potential.

Bina Mandiri KWT Chairperson Rofikoh hopes the programme will benefit local farmers and residents, particularly in improving skills, business capacity, and family welfare.

Through synergy between PLN UPDL Bogor, Filantra, the village government, and the community, the PLN 2026 Desa Berdaya programme aims to produce high-quality village flagship products with strong business legitimacy and competitiveness in wider markets. This initiative is PLN’s step towards fostering productive, competitive, and economically independent village communities.
