PLN UP2B Bali Educates Vocational Students on Electrical Safety Culture

PT PLN (Persero) through the Bali Load Control Unit (UP2B Bali) has educated hundreds of students of SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar on electrical safety through a socialisation programme titled ‘Building a Culture of Electrical Safety in the Digital Era with PLN Mobile’. The activity, held at SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar, is part of PLN’s efforts to raise awareness among the younger generation so that they can play a role in preventing potential electrical disturbances while utilising digital technology to report conditions that could endanger the electricity network.

The activity was also part of a spirit of togetherness in welcoming the independence momentum through education and concern for electrical safety and reliability. The event was attended by the Coordinator of Supervisors of the Education, Youth and Sports Office of Bali Province I Wayan Suwira, Head of SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar I Wayan Mustika, and Manager of PLN UP2B Bali Komang Teddy Indra Kusuma.

General Manager of PLN UIP2B Jamali, Munawwar Furqan, said that PLN Mobile serves as a bridge between the public and PLN, including for reporting potential hazards or conditions that could disrupt the electricity network.

‘The earlier a potential disturbance is identified, the faster the handling measures can be taken. Therefore, we want the younger generation not only to be technology users, but also part of efforts to maintain the safety and reliability of the electricity system,’ Munawwar said in a statement on Sunday (16/8/2026).

During the socialisation, students were given an understanding of various potential disturbances around the electricity network, such as trees too close to the network, buildings that violate safe distance requirements, and kite-flying activities around power lines. In addition to understanding these risks, students were also introduced to PLN Mobile as a means of obtaining electricity services as well as reporting potential hazards so that they can be immediately followed up by PLN officers.

The students were also encouraged to become agents of change by passing on the knowledge gained to their families and communities. In this way, electrical safety education is expected not to stop in the classroom, but to develop into shared concern in daily life.

Manager of PLN UP2B Bali Komang Teddy Indra Kusuma said the younger generation has an important role in building a sustainable culture of electrical safety.
