PLN unit gets ISO 9002

BANJARNEGERA, Central Java (JP): PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state electricity company PT PLN, received on Monday the International Standardization Organization (ISO) 9002 certificate for its Mrica power plant in Banjarnegara, Central Java.

The company's general manager Firdaus Akmal accepted the certificate from Arifin Lambaga, the president of certification firm PT Mutu Agung Lestari in a ceremony at the power plant.

Firdaus said in his speech that the Mrica unit was the fourth power plant owned by Indonesia Power to be awarded the ISO 9002 certificate. The others were Tanjung Priok, Jakarta; Semarang, Central Java; and Saguling in West Java.

"We hope that after receiving this ISO 9002 certificate, the Mrica unit will be able to further improve its good service in supplying electricity as needed by the nation," Firdaus said.

He added that Indonesia Power, which was formerly known as PT Pembangkitan Listrik Jawa Bali I and II, now had a power generating capacity of 20,000 Megawatts (MW), around 9,000 MW of which were distributed via the Java-Bali power grid. (45)
