PLN UID Sulselrabar Inaugurates HSSE Control Centre to Strengthen Safety
Through the ‘HSSE Control Centre’, the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) can be monitored more effectively, allowing potential hazards and risks to be identified early and addressed promptly.
Makassar (ANTARA) - PT PLN Unit Induk Distribusi Sulawesi Selatan, Sulawesi Tenggara dan Sulawesi Berats (UID Sulselrabar) has inaugurated the HSSE Control Centre (HCC), a control hub that integrates the monitoring of HSSE implementation as an effort to strengthen safety culture.
The event, held at the PLN UID Sulselrabar office in Makassar, South Sulawesi, serves as a momentum to reaffirm PLN’s commitment to placing safety as a core value in every business process, while ensuring consistent HSSE application across all company operational areas.
“Occupational safety is not merely about compliance with regulations and procedures, but a culture that must be embedded in every activity of PLN personnel,” stated the General Manager of PLN UID Sulselrabar, Edyansyah, in a statement in Makassar on Friday.
According to him, the presence of the HSSE Control Centre is a tangible step by the company to strengthen modern, integrated, and sustainable safety governance. He added that strengthening this monitoring system is part of PLN’s efforts to create a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
“Our primary goal is to ensure that every PLN member can perform their duties safely and return to their families in good health,” added Edyansyah.
The HCC is expected to increase supervisory effectiveness, accelerate the identification of potential hazards and risks, and support rapid, precise, and data-driven decision-making.
On the same occasion, PLN also conducted a Board of Directors (BOD) Safety Walkdown led by the Director of Technology, Engineering, and Sustainability of PT PLN, Edwin Nugraha Putra, accompanied by the Executive Vice President of HSSE PT PLN, Dispriansyah. The event was also attended by the General Manager of PLN UIP Sulawesi, Gusti Made Aditya San Adinatha, and the General Manager of PLN UIP3B Sulawesi, Fermi Trafianto.
Edwin Nugraha Putra emphasised that the use of technology through the HSSE Control Centre functions to strengthen field safety supervision rather than replacing the active role of OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) supervisors.
“The HSSE Control Centre is not intended to replace the role of OHS supervisors in the field, but rather to strengthen supervision through technology so that no work proceeds without safety controls. The ultimate goal is to ensure every task is executed safely, monitored, and securely,” said Edwin.
He also directed all units to continue strengthening safety and security systems while conducting continuous evaluation and improvement. Such efforts are necessary to ensure every potential risk can be identified and mitigated early, so that all operational activities run safely and in accordance with established standards.
Through the execution of the BOD Safety Walkdown, the inauguration of the HSSE Control Centre, and the strengthening of the Security Management System, PLN UID Sulselrabar is further asserting its commitment to building an adaptive, integrated, and sustainable HSSE Excellence culture. This step is expected to support the realisation of PLN’s HSSE vision: Zero Harm, Zero Loss, and Zero Accident, while ensuring reliable, safe, and sustainable electricity services for the community.
