PLN UID Sulselrabar deploys 73 electricity emergency posts ahead of Eid al-Adha

Makassar - PT PLN (Persero) Sulawesi South-East-West Distribution Unit (UID Sulselrabar) has deployed 73 electricity emergency posts and 2,315 personnel to maintain reliable power supply during the Eid al-Adha celebrations in 1447 Hijriah.

General Manager Edyansyah of PLN UID Sulselrabar confirmed on Tuesday in Makassar that preparations for the Ramadan and Eid al-Adha periods, including distribution, staff, and support equipment, are ready. The emergency period runs from 26 to 28 May 2026.

“We are ensuring electricity supply is secure so the public can safely and comfortably celebrate Eid al-Adha, perform religious duties, and gather with family in a warm atmosphere,” Edyansyah said.

He also stressed that PLN is prepared to deploy all necessary resources to maintain power reliability and meet customer needs for a peaceful worship experience.

“We have taken various measures to ensure sufficient electricity supply in the South Sulawesi system,” Edyansyah added.

To assist electric vehicle users travelling during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, PLN has provided 78 public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) across 57 locations in Sulselrabar.

Edyansyah further noted that PLN has prepared support equipment for the emergency period, including 152 generators, 30 uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), 79 mobile substations (UGB), 13 cranes, 308 vehicles, and 169 operational motorcycles.

Additionally, 10 specialised Live Working Teams (PDKB) comprising 80 personnel have been deployed.

Furthermore, Edyansyah stated that PLN has conducted early routine maintenance, ensuring the distribution network is currently safe.

“If any power disruptions are anticipated or occur, the public can report them directly to PLN via the Complaints feature in the PLN Mobile app,” he said.
