PLN UID North Sumatra accelerates normalisation of electricity supply
PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi Sumatera Utara (UID Sumut) is accelerating the recovery and normalisation of electricity supply in the areas affected by the outage so that power can flow back to customers as soon as possible.
To date, 199 feeders out of 540 affected feeders have been restored, said Darma Saputra, Manager of Communications and TJSL for PLN UID Sumut, in Medan on Saturday.
Darma continued that the authorities are continuing to work on normalising the electricity supply after the 275 kV Muara Bungo–Sungai Rumbai transmission disturbance.
The disturbance occurred due to extreme weather which affected parts of Sumatra on Friday (22 May), he said.
The authority apologised for the electricity disruption in parts of Sumatra on Friday 22 May at 18:44 WIB, and some areas within the city of Medan remain without power.
‘We understand the inconvenience experienced by customers and are committed to restoring the electricity supply gradually and reliably,’ he said.
He added that information on the handling of the disruption will be conveyed regularly via the PLN Mobile app and through the PLN 123 contact centre.
