PLN Supports Agrarian Reform Programme Through MSME Assistance in Majene

PT PLN, through its South, Southeast, and West Sulawesi Distribution Unit, is supporting the Access Handling Programme for Agrarian Reform initiated by the National Land Agency in Majene Regency, West Sulawesi, by providing assistance to micro, small, and medium enterprises. Beyond asset legalisation and land redistribution, the programme includes economic empowerment to address inequality in land ownership and utilisation. General Manager of PLN UID Sulselrabar Edyansyah stated that PLN, via the state-owned enterprise house in Majene, is ready to strengthen MSME capacity so that land owned by the community can provide added value and promote economic self-sufficiency in Limbua and Bonde Utara villages. The 2026 programme focuses on these two villages, where average monthly incomes remain below IDR 2 million. Local small businesses face challenges such as limited capital, low production capacity, restricted marketing, and weak institutional structures. Most residents currently sell raw commodities, despite Bonde Utara’s potential in fisheries and Limbua’s strength in shallot farming. Edyansyah invited all MSMEs in Majene to utilise the available facilities and mentoring to grow their businesses, enhance competitiveness, and contribute to the regional economy. He described the state-owned enterprise house as a space for learning, collaboration, and growth. He expressed hope that the Agrarian Reform programme would unite various agencies to play a strategic role in improving community welfare. According to BPN data, there are approximately 200 families in the two areas, with 66 percent already holding land redistribution certificates and 34 percent covered by the Complete Systematic Land Registration programme. Head of the Majene BPN Office Muhammad Ilham Yamin emphasised that access arrangement is a crucial step after communities obtain legal certainty over their land. He appreciated PLN UID Sulselrabar’s support through the Majene state-owned enterprise house, saying the synergy is expected to strengthen community empowerment through business mentoring so that legally secured land can deliver greater economic benefits. Manager of PLN Majene’s state-owned enterprise house Haidir Ali confirmed that his team will provide business mentoring to communities in both villages, including forming business groups, facilitating business legalities such as Business Identification Numbers and sole proprietorships, and handling product certifications like distribution permits, halal certification, and brand intellectual property rights. He added that they will also strengthen human resource capacity through training and MSME mentoring, while encouraging downstream processing through packaging assistance, business digitalisation, and expanded market access to increase the selling value of local products.
