PT PLN (Persero) successfully maintained the reliability of the national electricity supply during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers in various regions of Indonesia on Saturday (21/3/2026). This aligns with PLN’s commitment to support the smooth conduct of public worship and activities during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026.

According to PLN’s President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, all PLN personnel were on full alert to keep the electricity supply reliable, particularly during the Eid al-Fitr prayers.

This measure is in line with the government’s directives through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to ensure that electricity services remain in prime condition during Ramadan up to Eid al-Fitr.

“Eid al-Fitr is a moment of togetherness for the community. Therefore, all PLN personnel work with full dedication to ensure that electricity services remain available to the public so that worship and family gatherings can proceed comfortably,” said Darmawan, quoted on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

He explained that the reliability of the electricity supply during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah celebration is supported by a national supply capacity of 51.37 gigawatts (GW). The peak load recorded was 34.77 GW, leaving a very sufficient power reserve.

The electricity alert status continues until 31 March 2026, and all company elements are committed to keeping the electricity system operating optimally.

Darmawan added that all PLN units have reported that the electricity conditions in various priority locations are safe and under control.

A total of 4,429 priority locations, including 2,044 places of worship, 706 transport points, 439 crowded areas, 426 shopping centres, and 814 hospitals, were the focus of electricity supply security during Eid al-Fitr.

“The priority locations are monitored as safe and under control with no electricity disruptions. We continue to conduct intensive monitoring so that the public can carry out activities during this Eid al-Fitr moment smoothly,” he added.

From eastern Indonesia, the General Manager of PLN’s Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) Regional Unit, Sri Heny Purwanti, stated that the electricity system in NTB during the Eid al-Fitr moment was in prime condition.

In the Lombok system on Lombok Island, the load during the Eid prayers was 326 megawatts (MW), while the system’s capacity reached 380 MW with a 54 MW power reserve.

Meanwhile, in the Tambora system on Sumbawa Island, the peak load reached 139 MW with a capacity of 188 MW, leaving a 49 MW power reserve available.

“With the available power reserve, the NTB electricity system is sufficient to meet the public’s electricity needs during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, including during the Eid al-Fitr prayers,” said Sri.

The same sentiment was expressed by the General Manager of PLN’s South and Central Kalimantan Distribution Unit (Kalselteng), Iwan Soelistijono. He affirmed that the electricity system in his region operated optimally during the Eid al-Fitr celebration moment.

“Alhamdulillah, the implementation of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers across the Kalselteng region went smoothly. Our electricity system operated optimally and is still supported by adequate power reserves,” emphasised Iwan.

This success is also reflected in the reliable electricity conditions in West Java. The General Manager of PLN’s Banten Distribution Unit, Muhammad Joharifin, reported that this achievement is the result of comprehensive preparedness from the start.

“PLN succeeded in keeping the electricity supply reliable from takbir night until the Eid al-Fitr prayers so that the public could perform worship safely and solemnly without obstacles,” said Joharifin.

Appreciation came from the local government. The Regent of Tangerang Regency, Moch Maesyal Rasyid, assessed that PLN’s support during the Eid al-Fitr prayers was very helpful for the public in performing worship with devotion and comfort.

“We appreciate PLN’s readiness in maintaining the electricity supply during the Eid al-Fitr prayers. This provides a sense of security and comfort for the people of Tangerang Regency in carrying out their worship,” Maesyal concluded.
