PT PLN (Persero) successfully safeguarded electricity supply during the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia ceremonies held simultaneously across various regions.

“We stand tall together with the people, ensuring every second of the ceremony proceeds without disruption. This maintained electricity is a manifestation of our dedication to an advanced and fully independent Indonesia,” said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo in an official statement confirmed by ANTARA from Jakarta on Monday.

Darmawan said the commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence is a sacred moment to remember the sacrifices of heroes while celebrating independence. Therefore, PLN deployed all its efforts to maintain the smooth running of events with reliable electricity supply.

“The 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence is a sacred moment for the entire nation. Because of that, PLN is not only distributing electricity, but also distributing the spirit of nationalism,” he said.

He added that the success in maintaining electricity reliability at various ceremony locations in a number of regions was the result of thorough preparations carried out by PLN since early August.

Previously, PLN had conducted assessments of the electricity system condition, load simulations, equipment testing, as well as strengthening coordination and personnel readiness. Security measures were also adjusted to the characteristics and needs of each location.

“We prepared layered security as well as personnel and supporting equipment to anticipate any potential disruptions. Alhamdulillah, the entire series of ceremonies was able to proceed safely and smoothly,” said Darmawan.

In addition to Jakarta, electricity reliability was also maintained in various regions. In North Sumatra, PLN placed 3,069 personnel on standby at 311 strategic points during the alert period. In East Java, in addition to sufficient power plant supply capacity, the smooth running of the 81st Independence Day ceremony procession was also supported by 5,524 personnel and 1,309 units of supporting equipment.

Meanwhile, in the regions of South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and West Sulawesi, PLN placed 2,430 personnel and 287 distribution equipment units on standby at 79 alert posts and 61 priority locations. PLN also prepared 471 operational vehicles to support smooth handling in the event of disruptions.

In Eastern Indonesia, namely East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), PLN deployed 1,406 personnel to maintain system reliability during the series of 81st Independence Day ceremonies. This support was reinforced with 133 units of equipment and 321 operational vehicles, as well as readiness of spare materials for disruptions at priority locations.

Darmawan said that this readiness is part of the electricity security measures carried out by PLN nationally. This effort is PLN’s commitment to providing comfort for the people throughout the archipelago during the series of 81st Independence Day commemorations.

“For PLN, safeguarding the Independence Day commemoration is not merely carrying out an electricity duty. This is a form of our service to be present at every important moment of the nation,” said Darmawan.
