PLN Shares Blessings During Eid al-Adha, Distributes Over 2,000 Sacrificial Animals
PT PLN (Persero) has launched a sacrificial animal slaughter and distribution programme titled “Eid Sacrifice: Spreading Piety, Sharing Light for Others” to mark Eid al-Adha 1447 AH. A total of 2,122 animals were distributed to over 200,000 beneficiaries across Indonesia.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated that the initiative reflects the company’s social concern in sharing benefits with the public. He added that Eid al-Adha serves as a reminder to strengthen communal solidarity and social responsibility for the community’s welfare.
“Eid al-Adha is a pivotal moment to reinforce social compassion and the spirit of sharing with others. Through this initiative, PLN aims to continue spreading caring energy and delivering tangible benefits to the public,” Darmawan said in an official press release on Saturday, 30 May.
He further noted that Eid al-Adha 1447 AH is a crucial opportunity to strengthen communal cooperation, social care, and kinship ties. According to him, the participation of thousands of employees in this sharing movement reflects PLN’s commitment to delivering sustainable social impact through various corporate social responsibility initiatives.
“Eid al-Adha reminds us that businesses must contribute broader benefits to society. We hope the distribution of sacrificial animals will provide direct assistance, strengthen kinship ties, and foster a spirit of unity and compassion across regions,” Darmawan added.
PLN Group’s Sacrifice Committee Chairman Khairullah added that the initiative is part of PLN Group’s efforts to cultivate a culture of sharing and strengthen harmonious relations with communities.
“Through this sacrifice activity, we aim to promote the spirit of sharing while reinforcing harmonious ties between the company and communities. We hope the benefits will be widely felt and bring blessings to all parties,” Khairullah said.
Meanwhile, YBM PLN Foundation Chairperson Sulistyo Biantoro stated that the meat charity programme aims to bring joy to underprivileged communities during Eid al-Adha. Through this initiative, YBM PLN seeks to extend the benefits of zakat and charity collected from PLN’s donors to reach people across Indonesia.
“This is a tangible demonstration of care and an effort to broaden the impact of zakat and charity from PLN’s donors, while YBM PLN strives to bring happiness and compassion to underprivileged communities nationwide. We deliver the donors’ trust as meat charity to assist with food needs. We hope this programme brings blessings to both donors and beneficiaries,” Sulistyo said.
This year’s Eid al-Adha, Sulistyo explained, saw PLN Group’s simultaneous slaughter and distribution of sacrificial animals and charity meat starting 27 May 2026 across its units nationwide. A total of 1,186 cattle, three buffaloes, and 933 goats and sheep were distributed to 206,359 beneficiaries from Aceh to Papua. The animals were sourced from employee contributions, PLN’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes, and YBM PLN.
