PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has assured that the power supply throughout Jakarta has returned to normal after experiencing a disruption on Thursday evening (9/4/2026). The power outage also temporarily affected MRT Jakarta operations.

“Alhamdulillah, everything is back on by 8:00 PM WIB,” said Senior Manager of Communication and Public Relations for PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Haris Andika, when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.

The disruption previously occurred in several areas due to issues at multiple substations (GI). Haris stated that the power restoration process had been completed in stages.

Earlier, power outages were reported in several points in Jakarta, including the Angke area and its surroundings. PLN indicated that the disruption originated from the system in several substations, causing a temporary halt in power supply to the affected areas.

“A power supply disruption occurred in several Jakarta areas originating from several substations,” said Haris.

In response to the situation, PLN quickly mobilised to normalise the supply by deploying field personnel. The restoration process was carried out in stages to ensure the power system was stable and safe before supplying it to customers.

“The disruption originated from the power system in several substations, impacting the distribution network in various areas,” said Haris.

PLN also assured that all affected customers are now enjoying normal electricity services again. Nevertheless, the company continues to monitor to anticipate any potential further disruptions.

To facilitate the public in obtaining the latest information on electricity services, PLN urged customers to utilise the PLN Mobile application or contact the PLN Contact Centre at 123.
