PLN Reveals Cause of Bogor City Hall Power Outage

BOGOR, KOMPAS.COM — A fault on the medium-voltage network (JTM), or feeder lines supplying Balai Kota and its surrounding area, is suspected to have caused the power outage at Balai Kota Bogor on Sunday evening, 8 March 2026.

‘There has been a fault on the medium-voltage network, or JTM, the feeder that supplies Balai Kota and the surrounding area,’ PLN ULP Bogor Kota Manager Andis Verinda Putra said when contacted by reporters on Sunday.

The exact cause is still being traced by staff from PLN ULP Bogor Kota as they carry out fault recovery.

‘Four teams from PLN ULP Bogor Kota are still on the ground, handling fault recovery and fault tracing,’ he said.

In addition, PLN is investigating all electrical substations fed from the same network towards Balai Kota Bogor.

Earlier, security personnel tightened security during the outage. All areas of Balai Kota Bogor experienced a power outage, including the main building and the Regional Secretariat building. Security personnel were also observed patrolling the Balai Kota area using vehicles.
