PLN restores Kalimantan interconnection system
PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi Kalimantan Selatan dan Kalimantan Tengah (UID Kalselteng) has restored the Kalimantan interconnection system, allowing the electricity supply load to customers to return to normal operation after repairs to previously disrupted generating units were completed. The restoration ends the load management policy that had been applied on a limited basis as a measure to maintain the stability of the electricity system during the disruption handling process.
General Manager of PT PLN UID Kalselteng Iwan Soelistijono in Banjarbaru on Monday said the condition of the electricity system continues to improve according to the planned recovery stages. “Alhamdulillah, with the improvement in system conditions, the load management that was previously applied on a limited basis has been stopped and the electricity system is back to operating normally,” he said.
According to Iwan, the system restoration is an important step to ensure that community and business activities are once again supported by a stable electricity supply, while strengthening the reliability of the interconnection network in Kalimantan. Although the system has returned to normal, PLN continues to intensively monitor all generating units that previously experienced disruptions to ensure the reliability of electricity supply is maintained under various conditions.
He also emphasised that the supervision is accompanied by the operational optimisation of power plants as part of efforts to strengthen the Kalimantan Interconnection System. “We are monitoring and optimising generating units so that the continuity of electricity supply for the community is maintained,” said Iwan.
PLN also urges customers who are still experiencing electricity disruptions in their respective locations to report them immediately through the PLN Mobile application so that officers can handle them as quickly as possible. In addition to ensuring system restoration, PLN expressed appreciation to all parties who supported the disruption handling process until electricity conditions returned to normal.
“We appreciate and thank all customers, local governments, stakeholders, mass media, and the community for their understanding, support, and cooperation during the system restoration process,” said Iwan. Going forward, PLN is committed to improving the reliability of electricity supply through system strengthening, operational optimisation, and increased personnel preparedness to anticipate potential disruptions that could affect services to customers. These efforts are expected to maintain a reliable, safe, and sustainable electricity supply to support community activities, public services, and business growth throughout the Kalimantan region.
