PLN records revenue of Rp582.68 trillion in 2025
PT PLN (Persero) recorded revenue in 2025 of Rp582.68 trillion, up 6.84 percent from Rp545.38 trillion in 2024, amid global economic dynamics and uncertainties as well as natural disasters that occurred in 2025. This achievement is the result of the Government’s success in maintaining economic and national energy stability amid global dynamics. This stability forms an important foundation for PLN to continue to maintain the company’s performance while ensuring the electricity needs of the public and business world are met reliably. The positive performance was driven by growth in electricity sales and accelerated customer connections across various Indonesian regions, in line with the Asta Cita of President Prabowo Subianto in promoting economic equity and improving people’s welfare through more equitable access to energy. Darmawan stated that PLN’s positive performance in 2025 was inseparable from the government’s success through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Ministry of Finance, and Danantara Indonesia in safeguarding economic and national energy resilience amid global pressures. This condition also spurred activity of the public and business world to continue growing, so the national electricity demand continues to rise. Throughout 2025, PLN electricity sales recorded 317.69 terawatt-hours (TWh), up 3.75 percent from the previous year’s 306.21 TWh. Meanwhile, the growth in connected capacity reached 192,621 MVA, up 5.82 percent from 2024’s 182,026 MVA. Additionally, customer connections also grew significantly. The number of PLN customers rose by 3.3 million to 96.2 million in 2025. As a result, customer connection revenue in 2025 reached Rp2.24 trillion, up 28.4 percent compared to 2024. The growth in customer connections indicates growth in people’s and the business community’s economic activity, as well as the expanding access to electricity. The growth was not only driven by regular connections but also strengthened through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ New Connection Subsidy Programme (BPBL) which reaches communities in remote areas. Access to electricity in rural and remote areas is an important part of supporting equitable development and national economic growth. The government together with PLN continues to ensure people can obtain electricity access, so that no one is left in the dark. Darmawan added that with this achievement, the company’s financial performance remains solid with a net profit of Rp7.26 trillion amid economic dynamics affecting the Rupiah exchange rate. In the face of global pressure, PLN remains able to post a net profit of Rp7.26 trillion. This achievement was achieved even though the company faced a forex loss of Rp12.46 trillion due to global exchange rate volatility. PLN remains committed to continuing to strengthen the company’s transformation, improving service quality, and expanding access to electricity to support inclusive and sustainable national economic growth.
