Makassar (ANTARA) - PT PLN (Persero) is prepared to supply reliable electricity to the Ferronickel Smelter factory owned by PT Sinar Tjokro Steel (STS) at 27 megavolt amperes (MVA) in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. General Manager of PLN’s Distribution Unit for South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and West Sulawesi (UID Sulselrabar) Edyansyah stated in Makassar on Monday that PLN welcomes the electricity needs and provides the best service for the smelter industry. “The steel industry requires a very large amount of electrical energy. PLN is ready to meet it with reliable, high-quality electricity supply at competitive prices,” said Edyansyah. This synergy is one of PLN’s forms of support in driving the South Sulawesi economy, realised through the signing of the Electricity Power Purchase Agreement (PJBTL) by Manager of PLN’s Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) North Makassar Martinus Irianto Pasensi with Director of PT STS Lin Bo. The event was also witnessed by General Manager of PLN UID Sulselrabar Edyansyah and General Manager of PLN’s Transmission and Load Dispatch Centre Unit (UIP3B) Sulawesi Fermi Trafianto regarding the 27 MVA electricity capacity that PLN will supply to the steel smelting factory in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province. Edyansyah noted that as a state-owned enterprise in the electricity supply business, PLN is ready to collaborate and ensure electricity supply to all corners of the country. This is done to encourage economic growth rates, thereby creating a multiplier effect through the readiness of electricity supply for industry and business. “We are optimistic that collaborations like this will continue to run to boost the economy. Business owners can now focus on their core company business. Meanwhile, PLN will ensure that electricity needs are met according to the agreed schedule,” said Edyansyah. Meanwhile, Representative of PT STS Sukianto Tjahyadi also appreciated PLN’s promptness and speed of service. “On behalf of PT STS, I thank PLN for the electricity support that will be channelled. We hope that with PLN’s electricity supply in the future, this steel factory business will develop,” he said.
