PLN promotes electric vehicle ecosystem through EVplore at SBY-Ani Museum

Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA) - PT PLN (Persero) is promoting the growth of the electric vehicle ecosystem in the tourism sector by introducing the EVplore Programme at the SBY-Ani Museum & Gallery in Pacitan, East Java.

“Through EVplore, we want to show that using electric vehicles not only provides benefits in terms of efficiency and the environment, but can also be part of a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience,” said General Manager of PLN UID East Java Eric Rossi Priyo Nugroho in a statement in Surabaya on Sunday.

Through the programme, PLN is providing a cashback voucher worth Rp10,000 on ticket purchases to the SBY-Ani Museum & Gallery for the first 10 visitors using electric vehicles each day until 31 August 2026.

To obtain the voucher, visitors using electric vehicles simply need to show their Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK) to museum staff.

The voucher can be used by visitors for various transactions available through the PLN Mobile application.

In addition, PLN has also provided a Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) with fast-charging technology with a total capacity of 47 kilowatts (kW) and two nozzles that can be used simultaneously at the museum.

Director of Administration and Business of the SBY-Ani Museum & Gallery Nabila Amalina said the collaboration is in line with the museum’s vision of providing a historical education space that also promotes environmental awareness and sustainability principles.

According to Nabila, the availability of SPKLU is one of the important factors in increasing public confidence to switch to electric vehicles.

“For the public, cost efficiency is one of the main considerations in choosing electric vehicles, so the widespread availability of SPKLU in Pacitan can provide convenience and a sense of security for people to switch to electric vehicles,” she said.

Similarly, Deputy Regent of Pacitan Gagarin Sumrambah assessed that the presence of SPKLU at tourist destinations is one form of Pacitan Regency’s readiness to support the acceleration of the national energy transition.

Gagarin said that the availability of adequate charging infrastructure will further increase the comfort of electric vehicle users while encouraging the public to switch to more environmentally friendly transportation.

“The presence of this facility is expected to provide comfort and convenience for tourists when visiting Pacitan,” said Gagarin.
